natio-marit-museum.jpg Every year the West Cornwall region boasts more attractions and things to do for visitors and families. The Rathgowry is a member of Visit Cornwall, and their website www.visitcornwall.co.uk has a comprehensive list of attractions, what's on, and all other interesting activities available.

pendennis-castle.jpgFalmouth itself (all within walking distance from the Rathgowry) has Pendennis Castle, the National Maritime Museum, bosuns-locker.jpgShips & Castles Leisure Centre, Fal boat cruises (which go to St Mawes, Flushing, Truro and Helford), and the town and harbour areas of Falmouth with a complete range of coffee houses, pubs, and shopping facilities. The award-winning Gyllyngvase Beach is only 60 metres from us with the Gylly Café offering a complete range of refreshments, light and main meals throughout the day, with spectacular sea views.

The Rathgowry is also directly on the South Western Coastal Footpath, and this provides excellent coastal walks around Pendennis Head and towards Maen Porth and Helford.

trebah-gardens.jpgFalmouth offers an excellent touring centre for West Cornwall with places like Land's End, Minack Theatre, St Ives & the Tate Gallery, or the Eden Project at St Austell, all less than an hour's drive. There are also the National Trust gardens and properties nearby – Glendurgan and Trelissick being beautiful examples.

For the family there are other attractions from Flambards Theme Park, Helston or the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay and the Falmouth Aquarium around the corner.

Falmouth and the surrounding area also cater for more active holidays with sailing, golf, surfing, and many other activities.

For the evenings, we are within 5 minutes of the Princess Pavilion, where there are regular concerts and other art events. Falmouth also has the Fal Festival in May/early June, the Oyster Festival in October, and many other events. You will be spoilt for choice.

Lastly, Falmouth is gaining a reputation for good food. Fish obviously features on many menus, but every taste is catered for gastronauts to fish & chips, with nearly every nationality represented.

What more can we say except, ask us for details, and we will try to help!!
